MONROE - The Monroe Public Library will hold small group discussions on the topic of "The Future of Higher Education" at 4 and 6 p.m. Tuesday and again at the same times on Sept. 20.
Given the ever-growing global economy and the cultural and social influences of the day, the discussions will focus on desired community post-high school educational opportunities for adults. The goal is to encourage neighbors to converse about, rather than debate, important topics.
The discussions will be facilitated by a representative from the Interactivity Foundation, a nonprofit working to increase citizen engagement and participation through neutrally-facilitated small group discussion of public policy issues. Learn more at www.interactivityfoundation.org.
The event is free, and a light meal will be provided at 6 p.m. for both dates. Choose whichever time and week works best. Sign up at the library reference desk and pick up a booklet on the topic.
