Monroe: Library bugged tomorrow

MONROE - Summer fun continues at the Monroe Public Library with another Wild Wednesday program, Black Light Camp Bugged! Wild Wednesday programs are offered as part of Catch the Reading Bug, the library's summer program for children.

Popular local performer, Jane Swiggum, will present two performances of Black Light Camp Bugged at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, in the library's meeting room.

Seating is limited and registration for either performance is requested by calling the library at (608) 328-7010.

The unique show, suggested for children and students age 3 to 12, will feature puppets, dancing, stories and live action with Beezy the Bee.

The show will take place in a darkened room under the purple glow of ultraviolet lights. Adults are invited to enjoy the show with their children.

Laughter is guaranteed when Swiggum and her handcrafted puppets present The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and the Hokey Pokey Pest.

Dressed as Beezy the Bee, Swiggum will instruct her young audience on how bees tell the hive where to find food; with plenty of silly dancing, of course.

The audience will be spellbound as objects appear to float in space and puppets pop out of nowhere.

The show will end with a glowing tribute, America the Beautiful.

For interested families, Swiggum will answer questions and share her black light performing secrets after the show.
