Monroe invited to come together in song

MONROE - Get in the holiday spirit and join the fun on Friday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. as the Monroe Arts Center (MAC), presents a concert by the Monroe Theater Guild (MTG) Youth Choir, followed by the annual Holiday Community Sing-Along. The musical events will conclude the MAC Holiday Silent Auction. Final bidding for auction items will be accepted up until 7:15 p.m. that evening.

Musical director Cindy Blanc will lead Junior Choir members Maddie Leck, Dani Larraga, Olivia Weigel, Annabelle Wortman, Henry Schluesche, Ali Erskine, Lilly Frehner, Emma Towne, Peyton Johnson, Chris Smiley, Emma Guenther, Natalie Faith, Izzy Driver, Stephanie Kolden, Anika Bernstein, Stephanie Sanft, Chris Paige, Kennedy Scace, Emilee Borowski, Shaina Thompson, Kaitlyn Black, Grace Saunders, McKenzie Erickson, Malone Dunlavey, Grace Tostrud, Heather Burkhalter, Dessaray Leopold, Anya Teasdale and Jacob Setterstrom. "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Caroling, Caroling" are just two of the several traditional holiday favorites on the Junior Choir's program.

The Senior Youth Choir, also led by Blanc, includes Emilee Miller, Ali Swenson, Jeremy Gracyalny, Tashona Brown Smith, Amanda Zimmerman, Eric Boyd, Danielle Moser, Callie Bristow, Camilla Klar, Bridget Kelly, David Kelly, Katie Miller, Michael Storey, Heidi Blanc Blum, Ellie Shuda, Zach Johnson and Eleanor Nesimoglu. They will perform a cappella numbers, including "Glousestershire Wasaail" and "Ding Dong, Merrily on High."

At the conclusion of the concert, the audience is invited to raise their voices in song at the MAC's Holiday Community Sing-Along, led by Blanc and the combined MTG choirs. "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Silent Night," and "Joy to the World" will be included in the sing-along portion of the program.

The Holiday Silent Auction, Youth Choir Concert, and Holiday Sing-Along are free and open to the public. MAC's Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall is located at 1315 11th St. in Monroe.
