MONROE - Green County Emergency Medical Services, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to train as emergency medical technicians. If selected, individuals will attend a Saturday EMT class at Blackhawk Technical College in Monroe. Classes will run August through December. This is a great experience for new graduates or students turning 18 within the next year.
Tuition is paid in exchange for one year commitment to the organization - only 32 hours of service a month. Individuals earn four college credits, gain experience in the healthcare field, get paid for actual time in the ambulance, receive self-gratification for helping others and gain volunteer work for their resume.
EMS responds to approximately 1,100 calls per year. They respond seven days a week, 24 hours a day, to areas in Green County and neighboring communities, providing medical treatment and transport to patients to the hospital.
Persons interested in becoming a non-EMT driver or basic EMT or intermediate technician, may contact Tina Jordan at 558-2795 or (608) 743-4438 or kjordan@blackhawk.edu or call (608) 329-4EMS (329-4367) or visit www.greencountyems.org.
