MONROE — The Monroe Public Library accepted a donation of $10,000 from the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin in support of the library renovation campaign.

The library’s administration team, including Library Director Suzann Holland, met with Linda J. Gebhardt, Director of Donor Services for Green and Lafayette Counties, to accept the generous donation.

The Monroe Fund has long supported many community resources to promote the standard of living in the area, and this donation, one of their largest, will promote literacy and engagement for decades to come as part of the library project.

The library campaign, Let’s Do Something Extraordinary for Monroe, seeks to raise $1.5 million for renovations to the Monroe Public Library facility, including the Children’s Room and space for the Literacy Council of Green County.
