MONROE - Tomatoes, green beans, and zucchini - way too much to eat, or even give away. There are ways to preserve it and continue to enjoy it through the winter months.

A hands-on workshop for learning methods of food preservation: canning, freezing and more will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Behring Senior Center of Monroe kitchen.

The cost is $20 which includes take home materials with recipes and the foods, jars, and supplies used to do hands-on preservation in class. Space is limited to 20 participants. For more information or a registration brochure, call Bridget Mouchon, Green County Family Living Agent, at 328-9440.
