MONROE - Monroe Clinic is offering two types of scholarships for students seeking a career in a health-related field. The deadline for applying is Friday, March 15.

Monroe Clinic Volunteers In Partnership awards four $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors each year. Applications are available through counselors at high schools within Monroe Clinic's service area in Green and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin; and Stephenson, Jo Daviess or Winnebago counties in Illinois.

Applications for five $1,500 scholarships are now being accepted for college students. Applicants must have completed at least one year of advanced study beyond high school in a health-related field and be one of the following:

• A resident of a community with a Monroe Clinic location

• A resident within Monroe Clinic's service area

• An employee or the child of a Monroe Clinic employee

The successful applicants are selected on scholastic merit, citizenship, need and expressed interest in the healthcare field. Applications are reviewed by a three-member scholarship committee and remain confidential. The $1,500 scholarship is paid directly to the recipient's school.

Students who have received a $500 scholarship in the past are eligible to apply for the advance study scholarship. However, an individual may only receive each scholarship once.

Applications are available at Monroe Clinic's human resources department or at monroeclinic.org, under the "news" button.
