MONROE - A variety of classes are on the schedule to start at Blackhawk Technical College's Monroe Campus on Monday. These include:
Norwegian Language and Culture is intended to be "user-friendly" for both persons just beginning to learn the Norwegian language as well as those who already have some knowledge and want to practice and improve skills. Commonly used phrases and good pronunciation will be stressed. Norwegian culture, tradition and heritage will be discussed as it relates both to the Norway of today and to the customs retained by area residents today. The class is scheduled to meet for seven sessions, starting Monday, Feb. 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the BTC Monroe campus.
Introduction to Organic Gardening will cover basic principles and methods for successful organic gardening, including soil preparation, pest and disease management without harmful chemicals and hands-on activities and projects. The six session class is scheduled to start on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the BTC Monroe campus.
Soothe Yourself, Relieve Your Stress with this three session class designed to assist attendees in learning to relieve anxiety and stress due to workplace issues, family relationships, or even team sports through self-hypnosis. Participants will learn various techniques to achieve self-hypnosis to de-stress, relax and avoid stress overload. The class is scheduled to meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Behring Senior Center.
Classes coming in March include E-Mail Basics; Make Your Own Herbal Teas, Marketing and Promotion for Small Business, Creating a Web Page in Word, Photoshop Basics, Buying and Selling Online with E-Bay, Plan Your Herb Garden, and more.
