You are welcome to pick-up your copy of “THE RED BRICK AGENDA” at the Behring Senior Center to get more information. They are found inside the Front Lobby door in a basket or in the Wellness Center just inside the door.


VETERAN’S BRUNCH

For all veterans who are 55 years of age and over! Wednesday, July 13th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. 

We will be having breakfast casserole, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and beverages. Donation of $3.00 and PLEASE CALL (608) 325-3173 so we know how much food to prepare. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!!! Thank-you.


EXERCISE CLASSES 

Please bring a change of shoes to wear in the gym. Classes are as follows:

●  Fitness First is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:15am.

●  Men’s Exercise is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:15am.

●  Chair Pilates is on Mondays only from 10:45 to 11:30am.

●  Balance Yoga is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:15am.

●  Dance Aerobics will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. First class is from 8:30 to 9:15 am and the second class is from 10:45 to 11:30am. Please note there are 2 classes!

●  Yoga is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:45am to 12:30pm. 

●  Fusion is on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:45 to 11:30am.

●  The Behring Senior Center offers Drop-ins and Punch Cards for all exercise classes.

●  Water Aerobics     June 20th — August 26th on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday; $4.00 per class OR free with a pool pass     Monroe Swimming Pool — Recreation Park; You may also use your Senior Center punch card.


CHAIR MASSAGE 

Dates: Fridays, July 1 & 22, August 5 & 19; Cost: $30.00; Times: 9:30am to 1:00pm (20 minutes)

Melissa Kieler is a Massage Therapist at Healing Notes here in Monroe. You will pay Melissa directly the day of your appointment.


FOOT CARE WITH JULIE

Dates: Tuesdays, July 12, 19, & 26, August 2, 9, 16, & 23

Cost: $42.00 and you will pay Julie directly

Times: 8:00am to 4:00pm. Appointments are around 30 minutes.


Senior Center Library 

Is open on the 2nd floor, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.  


Recreation

●  Table Tennis (ping pong) will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00pm.  

●  Pool (Billiards) The pool hall is open from 9am to 4pm Monday-Friday.


CARDS 

●  Card games are at the Senior Center from 12:30 TO 3:30PM.  We are playing for fun and there are no prizes.  Mondays are 

●  Euchre, Tuesdays are Canasta and Horse & Pepper, Thursdays are for 500 and Yass.

●  Bingo with Aster & Flippo at the Senior Center.  You must sign up because there is a limit of only 42 people. 

●  Bingo is Friday, July 15th at 1:30pm.  Aster will be giving away prizes.  Be sure to sign up for this event, remember space is limited, call (608) 325-3173 soon. Where red, white, and blue for a chance to win $10.00 Monroe Money. Registration starts Thursday, July 7th at 8:00am.

●  Flippo will be at 1:30pm on Friday, July 29th.  You have to bring your own deck of cards. Please sign up for this event.


MOVIES FOR July

●  First movie is Thursday, July 7th at 1:30pm.  Showing is “The Magic of Belle Isle”, Rated PG, Run time: 1 hour, 49 min.  

●  Second movie is Thursday, July 14th at 1:30pm.  Showing is ”The Great Outdoors ”, Rated PG, Run time: 1 hour, 39 min.  

●  Third movie is Tuesday, July 26th at 1:30pm.  Showing is “The Magnificent Seven”, Rate PG-13, Run time: 2 hours, 13 min.


Coffee & Chat Book Club

Summer Time Lunch in the Park

●  Every Tuesday in July at Noon Northeast Park

●  Bring a sack lunch and enjoy good conservations with friends!


Quilts of Valor

A Quilt of Valor is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. Honor, Freedom, and Comfort are stitched into every quilt to honor his/her service and sacrifice. The next Quilts of Valor presentation will be at the Behring Senior Center in November.  Please stop by the Senior Center front desk to pick up a request form.  Call (608) 325-3173 with any questions.

MEDICARE PROFESSIONALS 

We have two different Medicare specialists who will be here to answer your questions about Medicare.

Presidential Trivia

Join Bridget Tuesday, July 5th at 1:30, in the Dining Room for an afternoon of fun! You might even learn a thing or two about U.S. Presidents and American History. The top scorer will win a prize.


Brat Bash is Back

The Behring Senior Center is doing Brat Bash again. Brat Bash will be held September 29th 10 am- 6pm rain or shine. We still need volunteers, please contact Jazmyn Thoman by phone 608-325-3173 or email jthoman@cityofmornoe.org if you would like to volunteer. 


Stepping On Class

Mondays starting July 11 and going through August 22, the ADRC will be presenting the Stepping On: Falls Prevention Class at the Senior Center. This class is great for Seniors 65 or older who have a fear of falling or have fallen in the past and do not have dementia. You must register with the ADRC at 608-328-9499 to participate in this program. The program is held on Mondays from 12:30-2:30.


Summer Time Walking Challenge

Now until August 31st. Stop by the Wellness Center to sign-up or call for more details. 


End of Summer Luau

Where: Twining Park (Klinzing Shelter) Date: August 23, 2022 11:00-2:00 Cost: $3.00

Let’s celebrate the end of summer with a Luau Party. Sandwiches, potato salad, chips, drinks, and a dessert will be served from 11:00-12:00. Then, after that it’s time to sit back and relax to Todd Donnelly’s tropical style music. You must register before the event and payments must be made at the Senior Center prior to the event.
