You are welcome to pick-up your copy of “THE RED BRICK AGENDA” at the Behring Senior Center to get more information. They are found inside the Front Lobby door in a basket or in the Wellness Center just inside the door.


VETERAN’S BRUNCH 

For all veterans who are 55 years of age and over! Wednesday, April 12th, food will be served from 9:30 am until 11 am, but you are welcome to stay and talk as long as you want. We will be having breakfast casserole, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and beverages. Donation of $3.00 and please call (608) 325-3173 so we know how much food to prepare. Reservations are required.


EXERCISE CLASSES 

The Behring Senior Center offers Drop-ins and Punch Cards for all exercise classes. Please bring a change of shoes to wear in the gym. Classes are as follows:

1. Fitness First is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:15 am.

2. Men’s Exercise is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:15 am.

3. Chair Pilates is on Mondays from 10:45 to 11:30 am & Wednesdays 11:45 to 12:30 am

4. Balance Yoga is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:15 am.

5. Dance Aerobics will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. First class is from 8:30 to 9:15 am and the second class is from 10:45 to 11:30 am. Please note there are 2 classes.

6. Yoga is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm. 

7. Fusion is on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:45 to 11:30 am.


CHAIR MASSAGE 

Date: Tuesday, April 4th            Cost: $30 Times: 9:30 am to 12 pm (20 minutes)

Melissa Kieler is a Massage Therapist at Healing Notes here in Monroe. You will pay Melissa directly the day of your appointment.


FOOT CARE WITH JULIE

Dates: Tuesdays, April 4 & 11

Cost: $42.00 and you will pay Julie directly

Times: 8 am to 4 pm. Appointments are around 30 minutes. You will pay Julie at the time of your appointment.


Senior Center Library 

Open on the 2nd floor, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.  


Table Tennis (ping pong) 

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00pm.  


Pool (Billiards) 

The pool hall is open from 9am to 4pm Monday-Friday.


Pickleball for Beginners

Mondays 2:30-4:30 pm   Intermediate: Tues & Thurs 2-4 pm


CARDS 

Card games are at the Senior Center from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.  We are playing for fun and there are no prizes.  Mondays are Euchre, Tuesdays are Canasta and Horse & Pepper, Thursdays are for 500 and Yass.


Bingo & Flippo

Bingo with Aster & Flippo at the Senior Center. You must sign up because there is a limit of only 35 people.                

* Bingo is Friday, April 14th at 1:30pm. Aster will be giving away prizes. Be sure to sign up for this event, remember space is limited, call (608) 325-3173 soon. 

* Flippo is Friday, April 28th at 1:30pm. You have to bring your own deck of cards. Please sign up for this event.  


MOVIES FOR APRIL

Movie: Tuesday, April 4th at 1:30 pm. Showing is “Unchartered”, Rated PG-13, Run time: 1 hour, 56 min. 

Movie: Throwback Thursday, April 13th at 1:30 pm. Showing is ”The Paleface”, Run time: 1 hour, 31 min.

Movie: Tuesday, April 25th at 1:30 pm. Showing is “The Electrical Life of Louis Wain”, Rate PG-13, Run time: 1 hour, 51 min.

Quilts of Valor

A Quilt of Valor is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. Honor, Freedom, and Comfort are stitched into every quilt to honor his/her service and sacrifice. Please stop by the Senior Center front desk to pick up a request form. Call (608) 325-3173 with any questions. 


Mayflower Tours and Collette Tours

Travel brochures, applications, and pricing will be available in the front lobby.

  

Clogging with Nadine Patchin

Wednesdays: April 5th to May 24th Time: 3-4pm       Cost: $30* pay instructor

The next session of tap dance is clogging! It is a different form of dance, but we use tap or hard-soled shoes. No previous experience is necessary.


Line Dancing

Mondays:  April 3rd to May 22nd Time: 1-2 pm Cost: $40.00* pay instructor 

Line Dancing is back! It is one of the most fun country dances out there! Boots that leave marks on the floor are not allowed. 


Polka Dance

Wednesday, April 26th        1:30 pm Limit of 40 people

Join us for an afternoon of music and maybe even a little dancing. Del Heins will play Polka music, sure to get our feet tapping. 


The Beat Generation!  Drum Circles and Kitchen Bands

Monday, April 17th            10:30 am $5.00 per person

Let’s make music together!  Join John Duggleby for a morning of drumming fun!  


Kindness Matters

Wednesday, April 19th      1:30 pm    

Join Bev Davis, author, chaplain, speaker, and anti-bullying expert, who has written several children’s books about KINDNESS.


It’s Never Too Late

Tuesday, April 11th, 1 pm

George Goldworthy has written two children’s books, and he will be here to talk about how it’s never too late to go after your goals and find success.  


Let’s Get Moving

Thursday, May 4th        1:30 pm

Sean Casey will be here from Hometown Pharmacy showing different ways to get moving, and how each is beneficial for our health.


Mother’s Day Waffle Brunch

Monday, May 15th, 10 a.m. $5.00 per person 

In honor of Mother’s Day, we’ll be serving those yummy homemade waffles with all the fixings!  Bring a picture of your mother, grandmother, or your family to display on a special table.


Blood Pressure Screenings

Tuesday, April 18th     Time: 8:15am-11:00am

SSM Health will be here to provide free blood pressure screenings. You do not need an appointment, just stop in.


Medicare

Wednesdays, April 5, 12, 19, 26 Time: 10:30 am-noon

Nitza Pfaff is a knowledgeable Medicare professional coming to the Center to help you with your questions and concerns about Medicare.  No appointment is necessary, just stop by! 


Tech Help

Friday, April 14th Time:  2-4 p.m.

Help is provided by students of the Monroe High School, and they can assist you with questions about your iPad, tablet, and cell phone. You must register in advance for a 20-minute appointment. Call us at 608-325-3173 or stop by the front desk.
