MONROE - Historic Monroe announces its popular Summer Garden Walk for 2008 will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29.
Six area homeowners will graciously open their gardens to the general public.
This will be the sixth in the series of summer garden walks sponsored by Historic Monroe.
Proceeds from the event will be used to defray expenses to restore the Civil War cannons on Monroe's Historic Courthouse Square.
The six gardeners who will participate in the walk are: Michael and Cheryl Bystry, 1109 11th Ave.; Joyce La Grange, 1103 11th Ave.; Roger and Christine Alston, W6612 Cty B; Dean Counselman and Deb Shutvet, N4955 Wisconsin 69; Lee and Nina Binkley, 2435 8th St.; and Michael Boehme and Barbara Vieiralves, 1726 Lake Drive.
In addition, the Green County Welcome Center will be displaying the renovated garden installed by the Southern Wisconsin Master Gardener groups two years ago.
Refreshments will also be offered at the Welcome Center during walk hours.
Tickets will be available June 16 at the Welcome Center and Ruf's.
