SHULLSBURG - For the past three years the Community Evangelical Free Church in Shullsburg has been contributing to the Shullsburg Halloween festivities in a very unusual way.
Church volunteers have decorated their cars, trucks and vans to participate in "Treat in the Trunk."
Some participants, who live in the country, would otherwise have few visitors come "trick or treating."
Various themes have been presented such as the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, loving animals, camping, AWANA, Bible stories, and western. "Keeping warm" has been a special hit with the adults offering hot coffee, cider or cocoa.
This year the group will gather in the parking lot of Miner Transportation, 348 West Water St., to open up the trunks of their vehicles and give treats to the children.
As you are out on Oct. 31, watch for this group offering fun for all.
