MMS stages Shakespeare

MONROE - "All the World's a Stage," but this weekend the Monroe Middle School auditorium is in the spotlight.

Scores of local children and young people will present Prairie Fire Children's Theatre's original music adaptation of Shakespeare's most enchanting classic, "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Performances are slated for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Monroe Middle School auditorium at 1510 13th St. The auditorium is handicapped accessible when using the north entrance.

A joyful romp of mistaken identity and pranks, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" continues Prairie Fire's tradition of performing classics as audiences have never seen them before.

The local cast features: Gwen Ambrose, Jesse Anderson, Lexi Bartels, Makayla Bates, Brianna Becker, Carley Berndt, Hannah Buol, Troy Carpenter, Alexa Dash, Jessica Farrar, Jenna Folstad, K.C. Friske, Mikhaila Friske, Elicia Frye, Alyson Groom, Jared Hardy, Hannah Henry, Terri Holmes, Jessica Jackson, Ericah Johnson, Mary Kelly, Alex Kloepping, Sam McCoy, Brittany Meinert, Abbey Morgan, Anders Nelson, Anika Nelson, Destiny Parkin, Kortney Pippenger, Kaitlin Ross, Hannah Samson, Madeline Schluesche, Dani Schneider, Dominique Schneider, Taylor Schwartz, Kendra Shager, Jessica Shaker, Summer Stewart, Brooke Suddeth, Andrea Surlas, Kaitlyn Wardlow, Ashley Werrline and Kari Werrline.

Prairie Fire Children's Theatre professionals Chris Rosser and Kurt Anderson co-direct the production and will play the roles of Puck, the mischievous sprite, and Nick Bottom, the colorful head of the acting troupe.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12, and are available at the door the nights of the performances.

This Prairie Fire Children's Theatre residency is being sponsored by Monroe Middle School, Gasthaus Motel, and Morning Optimist Club.
