MONROE - Monroe Clinic joined other ministries sponsored by the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes (CSA) to celebrate the 9th annual Mission and Values Celebration Feb. 2-6.
This was a special week-long event during which employees, students, volunteers, and trustees engage in a wide array of activities and prayer services to celebrate and renew their commitment to the mission of their respective ministries.
"The theme for 2009, Mission: Caring for Planet Earth, is intended to raise awareness of the link between faith and ecology," Julie Allemagne, Chief HR Officer and Mission Leader, said. "For more than 100 years, lay women and men have served in our sponsored ministries, participating in the same mission of Christ as the Sisters of St. Agnes: to build the reign of God on earth."
"The link includes the understanding that the Bible calls human beings to be stewards of the Earth, entrusted with the care and sustainability of the planet," Allemagne said. "We are actively engaged in ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for the wider earth community as well as for the individuals, families and communities we serve. Whether it's in our eco-friendly expansion project, adopting a highway or donating to others in need, we are all caring for planet earth."
The Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes of Fond du Lac sponsors Marian University, Agnesian HealthCare and Monroe Clinic with the mission of furthering the healing and teaching ministry of Jesus. These sponsored ministries provide high quality health care and education to individuals, families, and communities across Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
