FREEPORT - The Winneshiek Players will present "Winneshiek Radio Presents: Miracle on 34th Street" on Dec. 1, 2, 7 and 8 at the theater, 228 West Clark St.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1; Friday, Dec. 7; and Saturday, Dec. 8. A matinee performance will be presented at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

The show is based on the Christmas classic "Miracle on 34th Street." Directed by Shawn Killingbeck, the radio play production will feature actors on stage performing a variety of characters and creating their own sound effects as they retell the heartwarming story of Kris Kringle, a white-bearded man who claims to be the real Santa Claus and enchants children and shoppers. Kringle is faced with discouraging skepticism from children, their parents and Macy's executives. Determined to prove himself, he manages to rekindle the miracles and enchantment of the Christmas season and make believers of them all.
