ORANGEVILLE - "The Ladies of Harmony" is the Mighty Richland Players spring 2016 show. The curtain opens at 7:30 p.m. March 18 and 19. The March 20 show has a curtain time of 2 p.m.
The plot centers on six ladies of Harmony Church who gather together to plan a small funeral dinner for a man they despise. As they visit with each other to do the planning, they drink "special" coffee made by the custodian, Russell, and end up revealing secrets about themselves best left unsaid. The show is a comedy.
Directed by Orangeville's Amy Jo Beightol, the six-woman cast includes Mary Jo Frederick from Mount Carroll, who is playing Maude. She has been seen in several MRP productions and is an audience favorite. Paula Fulton from Stockton will be playing Thelma. She's been in MRP's musical "Radio Gals" and several other MRP productions. Lynn Epping from Freeport is playing Leah, and the addlebrained "Addie" will be played by Sandy Sweitzer of Pearl City. She was last seen on the MRP stage in the 2015 Christmas show. Deb Ketzel from Lake Summerset will be portraying Stella, and MRP board president Sue Wichman, who usually does most of her work for the theater offstage, will this time be on stage as Grace. Jim Ketzel rounds out the cast in the cameo role of Russell Gertz.
