ORANGEVILLE — The Peanuts gang has arrived in Orangeville for their Christmas production of, “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
There will be two dessert theater weekends this year. They will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24; 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25; and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at 203 West High Street. Reservations are required.
The theater is working to raise money for exterior upkeep costs and will be presenting a fundraiser dinner show at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Tickets include the performance and a traditional holiday meal served family style. Reservations are required.
A special children’s matinee will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. The seating will be theater-style and no dessert will be served. No reservations are required. Tickets will include the opportunity to come onstage and take a picture with the cast in front of the Christmas tree.
For all but the Dec. 2 performance, famous apple cider will be served along with coffee.
The show is written by Charles M. Schulz and based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson. The stage adaptation was done by Eric Schaeffer, with special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson.
Charlie Brown, Sally, Lucy, Linus, Pig Pen, Schroeder, Violet, Frieda, Snoopy, Woodstock and Patty have come to help us remember what Christmas is all about.
Although they all have their ideas about Christmas, the Peanuts gang agrees how commercial it has become. As Charlie Brown searches for the true meaning of the holiday, he stumbles over what it has become; a season full of letters to Santa, decorated trees, carols, and presents.
