MHS vocal concert set for March 10

MONROE - The Monroe High School Vocal Music Department presents an evening of musical medleys at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the MHS Performing Arts Center. Performing groups include: Barbershop, Chamber Choir, Concert Choir 9, Concert Choir 10, Acappella and Show Choir. Cost is $ 3 adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. Judy Bennett is the director.

The Barbershop will sing an arrangement by the Bluegrass Student Union, "Java Jive."

Chamber Choir soloists are Eric Grau in "Let's Hang On," and Morgan Boeck and Dylan Cleveland in "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." Sean Jorgenson is the teacher's assistant.

The Concert Choir 9 soloists are Christina Wyttenbach in "I Dreamed a Dream"; Bridget Kelly "On My Own"; Jennifer Sefcik and Alyssa Montgomery in "Bring Him Home."

Concert Choir 10 soloists include: Kylee Ritschard "I Have a Dream," Cassandra Einbeck "SOS," Jadie Voegeli "Take a Chance on Me," Jessica Hughes "Dancing Queen," and Veronica Andraski "I Have a Dream." Teacher assistants are Morgan Boeck and Emily Treuthardt.

Acappella soloists include Reuben Arnold "Johanna." Nicole Heinen "Green Finch and Linnet Bird," and Paige Hosley and Michael Storey, "Not While I'm Around." Accompanist is Heidi Blanc Blum.

Show Choir choreographer is Emily Treuthardt. They will perform "Seize the Day" from "Newsies."
