MONROE — The Monroe High School Healthcare Solutions Launch Program has organized a Respite Fun Day for the families of children with medical disabilities in the community. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at Monroe High School.

Through the Launch program, the class of 12 students earned their CNA certifications through Blackhawk Technical College in December. On the respite day, they are offering a range of engaging games and activities for the children and their siblings that are tailored to each child’s specific needs.

This respite day not only benefits the children through social interaction and skill development but also allows the parents to recharge, attend to personal matters, or simply enjoy time for themselves without the constant demands of caregiving.

“We are committed to making this event an annual occasion that will continue to create a supportive community that will have a lasting positive impact,” said Anna Zentner, an MHS student organizer of the program.
