MONROE — Monroe High School Students were represented in The Badger Conference Art Show that ran from April 27 to May 11. This is an annual event where high school art students get the opportunity to show and have their work juried by professional artists. There are 12 art categories and each of the 16 Badger Conference schools can choose a maximum of 10 pieces to be entered into the judged competition.
This year 14 of the sixteen Badger Conference Schools participated in the challenge. There were over 130 individual pieces of work showcased by talented student artist with a wide range of skills from around the conference.
Six MHS students were honored with an award at the show. Hayden Zahradka, grade 12, was first place in Sculptural Ceramics, Hayley Rielly, grade 12, was third place in 3D mixed media, Jadyn Schwartzlow, grade 9, was third place in jewelry, Ell Schoessow, grade 10, was honorable mention in photography, Indiana Garchie, grade 11, was honorable mention in jewelry, and Jessa Lucas, grade 12, was honorable mention in acrylic painting. Other students who had their work on exhibit include Grace Saunders, grade 11, Cierra Larson, grade 12, Allie Holland, grade 11 and Emma Towne, grade 11.
