APPLETON - Jennifer Sefcik, a student at Lawrence University, will be taking a trip with the Lawrence's chapter of Habitat for Humanity to Jutiapa, Guatemala during the university's spring break in 2013.
The Lawrence chapter is seeking donations to visit Guatemala for the seven-day trip. The group will help build at least two houses.
The goal for money raising is $500 per person. Sefcik is looking for local businesses, organizations or people who would be willing to donate even $20 to her cause and help a family in need.
Those who are interested in donating to Sefcik can email her at jennifer.l.sefcik@ lawrence.edu or by calling (608) 558-5074.
"One of the great things about Habitat is that when you build the house, you build with the family," Sefcik said. "So while we are down there we will be building with the families we are helping and even sharing a meal with each of them one night."
Sefcik, the daughter of Ann and Andy Sefcik, Monroe, is a 2012 graduate of Monroe High School. She is a double major in psychology and Spanish with a minor in biology.
