JUDA - A Memorial Day program will be presented at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28 at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

The program will begin with the Juda Boy Scouts raising the flag at the central flag pole and leading the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. This will be followed by the Juda Middle School choir singing the "Star-Spangled Banner."

The middle school band will play "Salute to America," after which Kay Carter will present a tribute to the Civil War veterans from the Juda area who lost their lives in that war.

The main address will be given by Rev. Vicki Brantmeyer, pastor of the Juda Zion United Methodist Church.

Kurt Jordan will read the names of all deceased veterans from the Juda area and then the middle school band will play "This Is My Country."

The program will conclude with Jerry Adkins laying a wreath on the memorial to unknown veterans, a salute by the VFW Drill Team and "Taps" being sounded with a benediction. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Juda School.
