Meeting to feature wildlife biologist

DARLINGTON - DNR Wildlife Biologist Bruce Folley is the featured speaker at the annual spring meeting of the Lafayette County Bluebird Society held from 2 to 5 p.m. March 28 in the community room of the Town Bank at 15815 Wisconsin 81.

Folley will speak on the 4,000 acre Yellowstone Lake State Wildlife Area that butts up against Yellowstone Lake State Park, Blanchardville. The Wildlife Area, part of the Southwest Wisconsin Grassland and Stream Conservation Area Project, is free and open to the public for birding, fishing, hiking, hunting, horseback riding and snowmobiling. Much of the area is perfect bluebird habitat.

A blind auction will be held, and refreshments will be served. Blind auction items need to be brought in by 1:30 p.m. before the meeting or dropped off from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at the Bluebird Nest Nature Center, 308 Main St.
