Meeting to feature Red Skelton film

ALBANY - The Albany Historical Society will have its general meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Historical Museum, 119 N. Water St., Albany.

After a short meeting, an old film will be presented by Larry Hanson. The film stars Red Skelton in "Guzzler's Gin," "Public Pigeon Number 1" and others. The film also includes Jack Benny and Ed Sullivan and is less than an hour long. Hanson will be providing popcorn as well.

The meeting is free and open to the public. The group encourages new members. It meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Annual membership is $5 a year for individuals, $8 for a family, and $50 for an individual life membership.

Quarterly newsletters are sent to members. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Memorial Day to Labor Day, including the Saturday preceding Memorial Day this year, during the Albany parade.
