MONTICELLO - Monticello Area Historical Society general program will be on the pearls of the Sugar River in Albany. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. April 23 at Zwingli United Church, 416 East Lake Ave.
The speaker for the evening will be George D. Johnson, Madison, talking about the 1889 American pearl rush and it's Sugar River beginnings.
Those who attend can bring their own pearl along with its story. The event is open to the public.
