Medical Society gives $500 to Red Cross, Salvation Army

MONROE - The Green County Medical Society recently presented donations to two local charities.

Dr. George Breadon, treasurer of the Green County Medical Society, on behalf of the society, presented two checks of $500 each to the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army, for relief of distress following the Hurricane Sandy disaster.

Two checks of $500 each, on behalf of the Gavin Breadon Memorial medical student scholarship fund, were given to two area medical students for the 2011-12 school year. Ian Stormont, currently a senior medical student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Sam Healy, currently a junior student at Des Moines School of Osteopathy, received the checks. Stormont is the son of Drs. Annette, MD, and Daniel, MD, Stormont, Monroe, and Healy is the son of James, OD, and Maryann Healy, Monroe.
