Master Gardeners to tour Three Waters Reserve

BRODHEAD — The Green County Master Gardeners will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at the Three Waters Reserve, N3941 Golf Course Road, Brodhead. 

Plan to explore one of Southern Wisconsin’s new conservation lands in the lower Sugar River Watershed. Learn about the efforts to convert a 57-acre former public golf course to historic native landscapes to provide ecosystem services and public access to outdoor restoration and educational opportunities. In December 2018, the Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy conducted the first prescribed burn on the Three Waters Reserve, near Brodhead. The burn activity preparde the site for early spring planting of native prairie and savanna species plants. This is part of a long term restoration plan. Restoring the land and developing uses including public programming are part of the plans. Susan Lehnhardt will be guiding on more about the prep work and future plans for this site.
