Master gardener volunteer training set

DARLINGTON — Those who have ever considered becoming a master gardener volunteer or enjoy spending time with soil, plants and nature should consider attending the “Kick-Off to MGC Training” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Ames Road Multi-Purpose Building, 11974 Ames Rd., Darlington. 

The training will go over the steps necessary to become a master gardener volunteer and will be led by Josh Kamps, Lafayette County agriculture educator. Current volunteers will be available to answer questions and share their experiences. 

Master gardener volunteer training is designed to provide students a solid foundation in many aspects of horticulture to provide service to their community through volunteerism. 

The event is free and snacks will be provided. Register by calling the Extension office at 608-776-4820 or by sending an email to joshua.kamps@wisc.edu.
