ALBANY — The Green County Master Gardeners Association will host its 16th Annual Inspiration for All Seasons symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 at the Albany Lions Club, 402 North Cincinnati Street, Albany.
The symposium committee and members have been working to present a day full of learning and fun for garden enthusiasts. Included on the day are door prizes and silent auction items.
Special guest speaker Bob Lindmeier, a retired Madison-area meteorologist, will speak about climate change at 9 a.m. and hold a Q&A session at 10 a.m. Lindmeier spent 44 years at WKOW-TV and other radio and TV sations. In 2019 he was presented with the Wisconsin Silver Circle lifetime achievement award by the National Academy of Television and Sciences. In 2023, he was presented with the Local Broadcast Legends award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
Other presenters include Scott Johnson (“Foodmageddon”), Anthony Nied (“Sustainable Landscapes & Rainwater Harvesting”), Christ Bandura (“Building Resilient Soil”) and Kimberly Kester (“Creating Bee Friendly Gardens”).
There will be a silent auction held all day, with the winners announced at approximately 3:15 p.m. Silent auction funds will go to scholarships to local horticulture.
The cost to register between now and the event is $45. Registration includes morning beverages, coffee cake, lunch, afternoon snack and resource materials.

The Master Gardener Volunteers are trained and aid University of Wisconsin Extension staff by helping people in the community better understand horticulture training with Cooperative Extension specialists.
Master Gardener Volunteers provide service to their community and county, although special arrangements can be made to participate in other outside activities. The Green County Master Gardeners Association is for area Master Gardeners and others interested in horticulture.
