The cheese factory donated cheese sticks to every Monroe elementary and middle school as well as every Juda School student.

MONROE — Despite this year’s Cheese Days being canceled, elementary and middle school students in Monroe and Juda were able to enjoy cheese samples Sept. 17, 21 and 24.

Maple Leaf Cheese Factory donated a package of six cheese sticks to every Monroe Middle School, elementary school and St. Victor’s School student. A total of 2,400 packages of cheddar, Monterey jack and Colby jack cheese sticks were delivered to the students.

The donation came after Parkside Elementary School’s PTO contacted the cheese factory as part of a monthly giveaway they are hoping to do as a way to bring joy to students and families.

The factory has donated to the schools in years past in celebration of Cheese Days, so they offered to expand the donation to include each of the schools instead of just Parkside.
