MADISON - Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin is asking for your personal stories detailing the physical, emotional, and financial effects of being uninsured and underinsured for health care.
For the fifth straight year, as the nation observes Cover the Uninsured Week 2008 (www.covertheuninsuredweek.org), Congresswoman Baldwin will bring the words and worries of Wisconsin's uninsured and underinsured to the halls of Congress as she continues to champion the need for health care for all.
On May 6, after the last recorded vote in the House of Representatives, Baldwin will read into the Congressional Record the first person accounts of residents of south central Wisconsin who face extraordinary and devastating challenges due to a lack of adequate, or any, health care coverage. And, she will invite colleagues to join her in telling the stories of their constituents.
Please send your story explaining your own struggles due to lack of, or inadequate, health care insurance to Baldwin no later than April 30 via e-mail by going to her Web site at www.tammybaldwin.house.gov or by letter to her at: 10 E. Doty St., Suite 405, Madison, WI 53703, attn: health care story. Include your name, address, and phone number for office reference only; full names will not be made public.
