Madison: Athletes win at Special Olympics

MADISON - Belleville athletes won big while competing at the Special Olympics Wisconsin 2008 State Summer Games in Stevens Point, June 5-7. While the annual Opening Ceremonies were canceled on Friday due to severe weather, state-level competition kicked off Saturday in swimming, track and field, soccer, powerlifting and the softball throw. Track and field participants were Kristopher P. Bellrichard and Tristan E. Rondou.

Kristopher P. Bellrichard placed third in the 50M dash, fourth in the standing long jump, and sixth in the turbo Javelin 15 and under.

Tristan E. Rondou placed second in the 100M walk and third in the softball throw.
