MONROE — Bob Kann will be the entertainer at the Monroe Arts Center from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12. The event is geared for families and children. This performance is free and open to the public and is the second of three programs in Monroe Arts Center’s free 2018-19 Family and Kids Series. This one-hour event is recommended for families with children over 3 years of age and will be held in MAC’s Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall, 1315 11th Street, Monroe.
With a face as elastic as Silly Putty and a nimble body that can take a word or phrase and make it come alive, Bob Kann draws on material from 30 years of experience performing comedy for children of all ages.
He presents jolting juggling, mesmerizing magic, silly storytelling and everything but the kitchen sink to “make em’ laugh.”
Kann attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, became a teacher, received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and later a Professor of Education at UW-Parkside and UW-Stevens Point. Shortly after becoming a professor, he realized that he liked making his students laugh more than he liked teaching them. In 1982, Bob became a storyteller, juggler and magician who began performing for children and families throughout the United States.
