MONROE — Monroe Arts Center recently announced the schedule for the new “11/14 Summer of Music” concert series.
Concerts will take place on the fourth Wednesday of May, June and July, and are from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening on the south terrace of MAC grounds, 1315 11th St. All concerts are free and will take place rain or shine.
The first of three concerts is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, and will feature “All That Jazz Band” with vocalist Judy Knudtson and guest pianist Jim Brown. In addition, that evening MAC will be dedicating the east side landscaping and grounds, and the first hour of the concert will feature a wine tasting event by Bailey’s Run Vineyard.
The second concert in this series takes place on Wednesday, June 26, and will feature the Chicago-based folk duo, “Small Potatoes,” whose repertoire is described as “Celtic to Cowboy.” Superb musicianship and showmanship, award-winning songwriting, and a strong sense of tradition have made them a must-see summer concert.
On Wednesday, July 24 those in attendance can experience the culture and traditional music of Mexico with Madison’s Grupo La Septima Allianza.
