MONROE — For the 32nd consecutive year, the Monroe Arts Center will exhibit artwork entered in the Wisconsin Regional Arts Program Competition.
The artwork will be on display in the lower level April 11 through 27. This event is co-sponsored by the Monroe Arts Center and University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Studies and was open to non-professional artists living in Wisconsin or neighboring states
The judge for this year’s competition is Sandra Peterson, whose exhibit “Why It Matters” will be on display at Monroe Arts Center Wellington and Muranyi Galleries from April 11 through June 7. Peterson will also be the guest artist at the W.R.A.P. Artist Workshop day from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27 in Monroe.
Artists are encouraged to participate in the W.R.A.P. competitions and workshops held in various regions of Wisconsin throughout the year. The state award winners selected at the Monroe exhibit, along with all other 2018-19 W.R.A.P. competition winners held throughout Wisconsin, will be on display in September at the Pyle Center in Madison. Additional awards and prizes will be given at that time.
