Paul and Sue Barrett have graciously opened their home, built in 1955, as one of six featured sites for Monroe Art Center’s Holiday Parade of Homes this Dec. 7.

MONROE — The Monroe Arts Center (MAC) will host a Holiday Parade of Homes on Saturday, Dec. 7 in honor of the organization’s 50th anniversary.

The Parade of Homes features four residences, the newly remodeled Eugene Hotel lobby, and MAC’s restored Rose House. All six locations will be decorated for the holiday season, giving attendees a unique opportunity to explore the rich history of Monroe through these charming sites.

“Bringing back this traditional fundraiser for MAC is a wonderful way to celebrate our organization’s 50th anniversary this holiday season,” said MAC Executive Director Marie Perry, “and I am truly grateful to our six site hosts, MAC’s Board of Directors, our Foundation Members, our Holiday Parade of Homes committee members, our staff and our volunteers for making this historic event possible.”

Tickets for the Holiday Parade of Homes are $30 per person and may be purchased in advance of the event through VBO online ticket platform: https://monroeartscenter.com/ or in person at the MAC ticket office. Short descriptions of each of these six sites will be released one by one on MAC’s Facebook and Instagram pages, while site attendees will receive full histories from MAC representatives during the Dec. 7 tour.

Interested parties are encouraged to follow the Monroe Arts Center social media platforms for further information.

Homes may be toured in any order from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. Additionally, attendees of the Holiday Parade of Homes are also encouraged to visit MAC’s 27th Annual Holiday Silent Auction set up in Rudd Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the same day.

Monroe Arts Center strives to create arts programming that is culturally diverse and accessible to community members of all abilities. MAC engages students, artists, and patrons through live, professional, visual, and performing arts experiences.
