MONROE — The Monroe Arts Center will be celebrating the 150th birthday of the historic “Old Methodist Church” from 5 to 6 p.m. on May 3 at the Arts Center, 1315 11th St. 

The group will honor the past with a cake and a toast to ancestors. In recognition of heritage, the bell will ring as people in attendance stand on the doorsteps to a new beginning at the MAC.
