MONROE - Joel Dieckhoff, Rachel Gilson, Travis Gilson, John Klossner, Brianna Roesslein, Maeci Roesslein and Haylee Thoman will be part of 30 youth selected to serve as "Cow Experts" for the Wisconsin House of Moo at the 2009 Wisconsin State Fair, Aug. 6-16.

The House of Moo is an interactive booth, which educates fairgoers about Wisconsin's $20.6 billion dairy industry.

Volunteers from all over the state apply to be "Cow Experts," and come to the State Fair. These "Cow Experts" are selected based on their dairy knowledge and experience with dairy cattle, in addition to their ability to communicate with the public.

Stations at the House of Moo, such as Milk a Cow, Test Your Dairy Knowledge, and Meet a Calf, allow fairgoers the opportunity to experience various aspects of the dairy industry.

The House of Moo is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is located in the center aisle of the Dairy Barn across from the Coliseum.

The 2009 Wisconsin House of Moo is coordinated by Melissa Doyle and sponsored by the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board, the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and the Wisconsin State Fair. The Blue Ribbon Cheese and Butter Auction provides the majority of funds and support for the Wisconsin House of Moo, along with additional proceeds from the Governor's Dairyland Youth Celebration.
