MADISON - A free community hymn sing on the Overture Hall organ will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State St. Deborah Krauss Smith, Monroe organist and former church musician in Eau Claire, Madison and Monroe, will lead the hymn sing, which is sponsored by the Madison Symphony Orchestra.
Hymn sings are held several times per year with an area organist invited to lead each one. No tickets or reservations are required to attend the hour-long sing.
Krauss Smith's theme for the hymn sing is "Bounty and Blessings," and will also feature interesting commentary about the selected hymns, as well as several hymn-based pieces for solo organ. All hymn texts are provided for the audience.
