MONROE — Monroe’s courtroom was the setting for the 2019 grant awards from Monroe Fund, Reasa Charitable Fund, Dr. Fred W. and Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund, Reasa Historic Preservation Fund, Robert B. Olson Investment Fund for Monroe High School, The LEO Fund, The CLAIRE Fund and The Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund. 

The reception was held on the top floor of the courthouse. More than $64,000 in grants were presented to non-profit organizations serving the needs of the Monroe area. This brings the year to date total over $653,000 with 473 grants awarded.

Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund: Badger Boys State Inc. — Badger Boys State; Main Street Monroe Inc., Historic Downtown — musical chairs on the square; City of Monroe — Park and Recreation — fireworks; School District of Monroe — backpack buddies.

Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Fund for Historic Preservation: Monroe Arts Center — restoration of front doors; Monroe Arts Center — tower window restoration project; Turner Hall — restoration of exterior canton shields and signage.

The Funds are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a non-profit public foundation serving nine southern Wisconsin counties. A wide array of interests, including the arts, education, recreation, health care, human services, social services, historic preservation and housing needs have benefitted from these grants which assist Monroe residents in all age groups.
