Sons of Norway plan Christmas gift ideas

MONROE - Members of the Monroe Sons of Norway and their guests will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Union Presbyterian Church for coffee and a light snack. The business meeting will start at 7 p.m.

Toy Haus of Monroe will present a program on ideas for Christmas gifts.

Albany High School to honor veterans

ALBANY - The annual Veterans Day assembly will be held at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in the Albany High School gym.

The event to honor local veterans is hosted by the civics class and is open to the public. Attendees may enter through the gym doors.

Richland Players to host Christmas show Nov. 24-25

ORANGEVILLE - The Mighty Richland Players Dessert Theater is presenting "A Holiday Bucket List." Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and 2 p.m. Nov. 26. The show includes a variety of seasonal music, a short play and musical acts.

There will be performances by Sandy Sweitzer, Mary Jo Frederick, Bonnie Scheider, Kim McIver, Keisha Leehan, Ron Pallek, Becca Maves, Chase Bender, Leah Baker and Amy Jo Beightol.

Performances include a dessert and hot cider, served in Orangeville's Masonic building, 203 W. High St.

Janesville

Blackhawk Technical College to host admissions event

JANESVILLE - Blackhawk Technical College is holding a One-Stop Admissions event from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Central Campus, 6004 S. County G.

Students who contact BTC to reserve a position will be able to complete the financial aid process, Accuplacer testing and registration, and speak with advisers regarding their interests in BTC programs. Opportunities to tour the campus and learn more about career and professional development opportunities also will be available.

Belleville

Boom scratch game has $100,000 local prize winner

BELLEVILLE - Cynthia Nettum of Belleville has won the first top prize of $100,000 playing the $10 Boom scratch game from Wisconsin Lottery. Nettum purchased her ticket at Kwik Trip at 2145 County PB in Verona.

Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive an incentive of 2 percent of the winning ticket amount up to $100,000.



Senior center to hold annual holiday bazaar Nov. 18

BELLEVILLE - The annual senior center holiday bazaar will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Sugar River Senior Center, 21 S. Vine St.

Featured will be a large variety of homemade crafts including holiday items, a quilt raffle and theme basket raffle, a bake sale and a lunch stand.
