MONROE -With an emphasis on both displaced workers and new job seekers, the Monroe Public Library will host "Resumes and Cover Letters," a 90-minute session taught by an instructor from the UW Writing Center. This class is part of a larger project funded through a $25,000 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
"A resume and cover letter are usually required when applying for a job, so this session will help ignite the job seeking process." Monroe Public Library Director Barbara Brewer said. "We will provide an overview of what goes into these important documents, focusing on style and content choices. The workshop also will include interactive exercises and hands on feedback."
Registration is required by calling the library, 328-7010. The workshop will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the second-floor meeting room of the library, 925 16th Ave. People who cannot attend the full workshop or are not registered may come for the open hours session from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. This open hour is a special time for everyone to ask job related questions.
