LENA - Lena-Winslow High School will present the musical "Annie" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 in the Lena-Winslow Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
Credence Stouffer will play Annie, the orphan who is rescued from the orphanage by the wealthy Oliver Warbucks, played by Russell Erickson. His faithful secretary, Grace Farrell, played by Lexi Graf, tangles with the director of the orphanage, Miss Hannigan, played by Brandi Rothenbuehler. Logan Krogull plays Rooster, Miss Hannigan's shady brother; he is accompanied by his flashy girlfriend played by Stevie Wolfe. Sean Cory is the famous radio entertainer from the "Oxydent Hour of Smiles," Bert Healy. A cameo appearance by President Franklin Roosevelt, played by Eli MacDougall, and his cabinet are inspired by Annie and the musical's most famous song, "Tomorrow."
Accompanied by a pit orchestra, a cast of more than 60 students will transform themselves into orphans, Hooverville residents and servants to the wealthy Warbucks. The cast will be singing and dancing to favorites "Maybe," "Easy Street," "It's A Hard Knock Life," "I Don't Need Anything But You," and "Little Girls."
Tickets will be available at the door the nights of the performance. The price is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
