Legion Memorial Day parade, ceremony plans scheduled

ORFORDVILLE - Kenneth S. Wells American Legion Post, Auxiliary Unit and SAL Squadron 209 Orfordville, will have their traditional Memorial Day activities on Monday, May 25. The program will start in the Parkview High School gym at 10:30 a.m. Giving the Memorial Day message will be David Gough, American Legion National Executive Committeeman. Following the program, there will be a parade from the school to the Memorial Park at the Clubhouse for the annual rededication and reading of the 161 memorialized names. The Legion Chicken and Pork Chop barbecue will then be served in the Clubhouse. Cost for a full dinner with half chicken or one pork chop $7 and for two pork chops $8.50. The Legion Firing Squad will give their three-volley salute at the Park and later at Kenneth Wells' gravesite in the nearby cemetery. For more information, contact Bobbe Stuvengen at (608) 879-2269.
