JANESVILLE - Janesville Toastmasters Club 1983 welcomed a new member at its bi-monthly meeting Tuesday, July 21. President Tom Carlson presided with the invocation given by Debra Blazer. Brian Allen, VP Membership, led the induction ceremony.
The newest member of the Janesville Toastmasters Club is Susan Kinast-Porter, MD. Kinast-Porter resides in Monroe and has been a physician at Monroe Clinic-Albany since December 2001. Kinast-Porter provides comprehensive health care for people ranging from newborns to the elderly. "I spend a lot of time with my patients to ensure that all their needs are met," said Kinast-Porter.
In addition to being inducted to the Toastmasters Club, Kinast-Porter presented her first speech and was awarded the evening's "Best Speaker" trophy.
The Janesville Toastmasters Club is one of more than 11,700 Toastmasters groups around the world providing its members with training in public speaking and leadership. Janesville Toastmasters meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Hedberg Library in Janesville. Guests are always welcome.
