Karate to begin March 3

MONROE - The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new session of Karate classes beginning on Tuesday, March 3. Karate meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Behring Senior Center of Monroe, 1113 10th Street. The youth class is for children 7-12 years old and is held from 6:15-7:15 p.m. The adult class (for anyone 13 years or older) is held from 7:15-8:30 p.m. This session will run March 3-May 28. Tuesday, March 3 and Thursday, March 5, are required orientation for new students. White belts may also attend. Youth and adults will meet together for these two nights from 6:15-7:15 p.m.. All others begin class March 10.

The cost of the class is $40 for youth and adults who are residents of Monroe. The fee for non-residents is $47. If more than one person per family involved in the program, the cost would be $40 for one person and $35 for each additional family member for Monroe residents and $47 for the first non-resident participant and $42 for each additional family member.
