Sophie Kammerud represented the Optimist Club of Darlington at the SWIS District Oratorical contest on May 11, 2024 in Milwaukee. She had previously placed 2nd at the club contest and first at the Zone contest. Even though she didn’t place in the top three at the District contest, she was the youngest of 11 speakers and represented herself with poise and confidence.
