DARLINGTON - The Darlington Canoe Festival will host its eighth annual Darlington Idol and Junior Idol at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Bridges Restaurant and Banquet.
The cost is $8. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a full bar and a limited grill menu. Dick White and Jim Jacobson will be providing entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. Judging and performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The event is an annual fundraiser with the proceeds going for the canoe festival's firework show. The lineup for the 2013 event will include returning contestants, as well as new talents and acts, that includes sock puppets, dancing, a hoola hoop contest and a singing bee. Judges will vote for the winner of the evening, as well as second- and third-place winners.
A 50/50 raffle will take place throughout the evening.
