July classes still available at BTC Monroe campus

MONROE - Opportunities still abound to gain skills and knowledge during the summer session at the Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College. Classes meeting at the BTC Monroe Campusin July include:

E-mail Basics: Attendees will learn to send and receive messages, reply and forward messages, and create an address book. It's recommended that students have taken Computer for the Absolute Beginner or have comparable experience. The class is scheduled to start on Tuesday, July 7, and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30-11:30 a.m., for five sessions.

Excel 2007-Beginning: Create, enter, and edit data in the popular Microsoft spreadsheet. In this hands-on course, you will learn commands and functions to select, copy, and move ranges; and experiment with different fonts, borders, shading, styles, and colors to enhance your spreadsheet. Setting up formulas and printing spreadsheets will be covered as well. A recommended prerequisite is an introductory computer course such as Windows Basics or comparable experience. This class will start on Monday, July 13, and meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-8:30 p.m. for five sessions.

Internet Basics: Learn how to surf the Internet like a pro. This class will introduce you to the terminology, techniques and tricks for finding what you want on the Internet. A recommended prerequisite is a Computer for the Absolute Beginner class or comparable experience. Two classes are scheduled to start on Tuesday, July 21, one meeting from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and one meeting from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for five sessions.
