'Jukebox' concert slated for March 26

FREEPORT - The Downtown Development Foundation announces a concert at 7:30 p.m. March 26, at the Freeport Masonic Temple Auditorium by "Jukebox Rock and Roll," a band comprised of area 60s and 70s rock and roll musicians.

Band members include Gary Downing (vocals), Stevie Cole (vocals), Jack Farringer (lead guitar), Roger Hayes (guitar and vocals), Tom Erickson (keyboard and sax), Gordy Huntley (bass and vocals), and Darrel Moore (drums). Collectively, the group members played in more than 20 popular area bands from the 60s and 70s including: The Classics, Fourplay, Fat Cat, The Porters, The Cole Brothers Band, The Scripts, Zebra, Bogus Fish, The Prophets, Flashback, The Rebels, Jason Stone Band, Stevie Cole and the Stone Souls, Soular Eclipse, The Bonnevilles, Country Junction, We Have Been, Clark and the Westerners, Horse Feathers, and Port Blues.

In addition, Ernie Veer, best known for his Johnny Cash impersonation, will be featured between sets.

Reserved tickets ($12 and $15) will go on sale Thursday, January 27th at the Freeport Downtown Development Office, 27 W. Stephenson.
